Active being healthy
The “Active Being Healthy” project promotes the health and well-being of workers through a comprehensive program of actions aimed at promoting physical activity and ergonomic habits, mental health and emotional well-being, and healthy eating habits.
“Active being healthy” has been carried out for five years, from 2019 to 2023 to promote the health and wellbeing of Barcelona Activa employees. The different editions always include updated proposals to give new impetus to issues related to emotional health, developing actions to work on the risk of emotional demands, increasing the impact and participation and incorporating the gender perspective (78% of the staff are women).
“Active being healthy” organises workshops in different areas of interest. Some examples are: yoga, smoking cessation, voice use workshops, how to improve sleep quality, and healthy eating workshops (reducing energy costs, improving mood, etc.), among others.
The aspects included in the Time Pact are also taken into account in the format of the workshops.
- Encourage flexible hours generally, usually starting at 10:00 am or 9:30 am, at the earliest.
- The format is one line, taking into account the e-work. The workshops are recorded and can also be made visible later.
- They are always scheduled in the morning and not during periods when most workers are on vacation.
- The participation and dialogue of people in the workshop are fundamental to providing spaces where they can talk about work and personal wellbeing. For this reason, there is always a space for questions and comments.
