Participatory process to guarantee personal time for carers within the framework of the Network for the Support of Caring Families
The Network for the Support of Caregiving Families was created in April 2007 with the aim of providing families who care for people affected by illness with information and advice based on attentive listening, disseminating their rights, ensuring that health and social policies take them into account, connecting them with professionals, and raising awareness in society about the work they do. In short, to stand alongside families who provide care and give them the recognition they deserve.
The XSFC is a well-established network with stable and strong links to the vast majority of organisations representing people affected by some form of illness and their families, professional associations, and health and social service providers. Its long and stable track record makes it a unifying and catalytic force at times of change, when all political administrations have sought to engage directly with the organisations in the network and maintain their commitment to it as a strategic public-private co-production space for the city's care programme. They have been the driving force behind the main municipal actions in the field of care, such as the launch of the Barcelona Cuida Space and the Caregiver Card, innovative and pioneering services and programmes throughout Spain.
