Workshops on joint responsibility
Group sessions with a gender perspective for men in the pre-birth period. The purpose of this group is to provide participants with a safe and secure space among men where they can work specifically on issues related to fatherhood from a male perspective and with the support of a team of professionals.
The sessions focus on:
- Facilitating the development of parenting and emotional skills among the men in the group so that they can become active, responsible, and conscious fathers.
- Promoting the establishment of healthy bonds between fathers and their children, starting this bond during pregnancy or, if applicable, from the moment the decision to become a father is made.
- Encouraging a positive and healthy relationship between partners during pregnancy and child-rearing, promoting shared responsibility for domestic and childcare tasks among the men in the group.
- Promoting awareness and emotional expression among the men in the group as a form of self-care and the creation of healthy bonds.
- Prevent possible behaviours associated with men at the time of birth and childcare (gender-based violence, substance and alcohol abuse, risky or negligent behaviour, anxiety, depression, etc.).
- Promote the construction of alternative, diverse, flexible, and healthy masculinities among the men in the group
- Challenge the hegemonic model of masculinity, highlighting the negative consequences for women, children, and men.
Time impacts:
- Facilitate work-life balance.
- Reduce the unpaid workload and support caregiving.
