Studies and reports

The research projects elaborated in collaboration with other institutions have the basic function of knowing the general situation in the city in an updated and periodic way, and offer a snapshot of the reality and the citizen's opinion about the uses of time and the policies that derive from it.

The following studies have been carried out so far:

  • The circadian city

    Influence of biological rhythms and clocks on health and society. Chronobiology, biological rhythms and public policy.

    Review: Chronobiology is the science that studies biological rhythms and their individual and social consequences. This document aims to direct us towards the circadian city and to explore the public policies necessary to optimize our biological and social times.

  • Time Pact 2023 Yearbook

    Summary: This second edition compiles the activities carried out in the year 2023. It includes reflective articles on a key topic such as time poverty, as well as summaries of the main activities promoted during the year in which new entities have joined the Time Pact. Finally, the document recounts the international spaces and projects where Barcelona is a key agent in time policies.

  • Public Time Policies Promoted by the Barcelona City Council 2023

    Summary: This second edition analyzes the municipal actions in force during 2023, introducing a comparative view relative to the previous period that highlights their growth.   • Yearbook of the Pacte del Temps 2022

    Ressenya: First Yearbook of the Pacte del Temps that compiles the activities carried out throughout 2022. It includes articles reflecting on its evolution and on key issues, such as children's right to time, the relationship between time poverty and public health, and sustainability. Finally, it also summarises the main actions carried out in the framework of the World Capital of Time Policy, which Barcelona will hold for 2022.

  • The public time policies promoted by Barcelona City Council 2022

    Summary: The time policies in force during 2022 are analysed. The aim is to provide an overview of the situation, give visibility to the work done and identify challenges to be addressed in the future.   • Time study: data collection systems, new proposals and policy orientation

  • The social use of the time in Barcelona. Executive Study

    This study, based on the 1985, 1990, 1995 and 2000 surveys of living conditions and habits, provides information on the strategies employed by the people of Barcelona as regards time, as well as their perceptions of the issue and the ways they organise the different time spheres.

  • Survey "Uses of Time and the Public Space"
