The Universitat Oberta of Catalonia Foundation is the promoting entity of the UOC. It was created under the impetus of the Government of Catalonia on October 6, 1994, with the aim of promoting its own offer of non-face-to-face university education. Its fundamental objective is to promote the creation and recognition of the UOC, which pays particular attention to research in the field of methodologies and techniques applied to non-face-to-face university education.
