The Mystery of lost time: raising families’ awareness about time through play

»On November, 9 Barcelona City Council is organising the recreational activity “The mystery of lost time”, aimed at children and families.
» The activity, aimed at raising awareness about the responsible use of screen time among the city’s youngest children, will take place in the 0-99 Play Space in La Clariana in the Parc de les Glòries.
Within the framework of the annual Time Use Week event, different entities and agents involved organize activities in parallel to the official program, to raise awareness about the current debate on healthier, more equitable, efficient and sustainable uses of time among all citizens.
In this context, the Department of Feminism and LGTBI Services of Barcelona City Council is organising an activity aimed at families and children, to reflect on the use of time with screens and collect perceptions and needs, taking advantage of the new government measure for the digital well-being of children and young people.
The activity is called “The mystery of lost time” where, through games and playful dynamics, children and families will discover where the time we lose with excessive use of screens escapes. The mission will be to recover the Lost Time and, to do so, they will have to solve 4 playful challenges as a family to “close the holes” through which time sneaks. The activity will promote the active participation of young children, who will be responsible for reflecting on what a happy time is for them.
This activity will take place in La Clariana in the Parc de les Glòries, on November 9, from 12 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the 0-99 Play Space, and it will be recorded including interventions and interviews of the participants to obtain audiovisual pieces for subsequent communication and public awareness.
The activity is free and no prior registration is necessary.
