Entorn 1900
The exhibition takes us out to the mountains that mark the limits of Barcelona at a time when the city was growing, with the annexation of the towns and villages along its boundaries.
‘Entorn 1900’ allows us to explore the special places and pathways of Collserola, reaching from Pedralbes at one end to the mountains of Horta at the other, passing through the Putxet and Carmel hills on the way. The chronology of the exhibition is also defined, spanning the turn of the nineteenth century to the twentieth century, a period in which photography had already developed, with multiple techniques being used by both professional and amateur photographers, whose work demonstrates the adoption of photography in society.
