IMC21, an international debate forum to gain a good understanding of the new model of mobility and public transport

15/07/2021 - 15:51 h

The International Mobility Congress (IMC21) is expecting to welcome 800 professionals from within the sector who will work together to seek solutions applicable to mobility at the local level. It will take place on 21 and 22 September in Sitges, with the participation of the Barcelona City Council and other entities.

With the slogan ‘Drive to Innovation’ the first International Mobility Congress will take place on 21 and 22 September 2021 in Sitges. The congress seeks to carve a space for itself on the international calendar of fairs and congresses focusing on mobility.

This first edition of the International Mobility Congress will be a hybrid event. Digitisation presents a great opportunity to internationalise the congress, as well as being an excellent tool for interaction between all those attending. The congress organisers have established ‘COVID-Less measures’ in order to guarantee the safety of attendees.

IMC21 will spotlight feasible, concrete solutions like sustainable mobility (vital for a tourist destination), ‘COVID-Less tools’ and the role that mobility needs to have in the new Next Generation European funding programmes.

There is also to be a space for the discovery of new trends, such as passenger drones, with the participation of the European Space Agency.

During the event there will be a total of 30 talks spread over the two days of the congress. In addition to the official programme, parallel sessions will be held in the FORUM room.

Attendees will also enjoy a networking space, a commercial exhibition area and various events organised by entities that are collaborating on the project.

IMC21 is organised by the Government of Catalonia, Sitges Town Council, AMTU, the Metropolitan Transport Authority (ATM) for the Barcelona area, the Barcelona Provincial Council, Barcelona City Council, the Federation of Municipalities of Catalonia (FMC), the Catalan Association of Municipalities and Regions (ACM), Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB), Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC), and the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB), with the official sponsorship of Seat Code.
