Recognition for the best initiatives to achieve sustainability with the 2030 Agenda awards

26/04/2022 - 13:09 h

Organised this year for the first time, the awards highlight good practice and initiatives with a quantifiable impact in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in the city.

Awards will be given to innovative solutions in five categories, which at the same time include different modalities:

  • Business initiatives
  • Social initiatives
  • Media
  • Education projects
  • Cities

Candidacies can be put forward in the 35 working days following the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona, which should be on 25 April.

Who can apply?

The call is open to any legal or natural person officially residing in, based in or operating in the city or the metropolitan area. As an exception, the Cities category is open to councils in cities all around the world with more than 50,000 inhabitants.

Initiatives carried out at the most during the two years prior to the publication of the call can apply. Projects still in progress can also apply if they have so far had an impact.

Independent expert jury

The winning candidates will be chosen by an independent jury with recognised expertise in the various categories in the call. The awards will be given on 30 September, during the closing session of the second meetings for the 2030 Agenda.

Each winning candidacy will get an award designed exclusively for this call and personalised for each category through a competition organised by Fostering Art and Design (FAD), open to artists and designers. The trophy is the work of the teams of Agnès Aran, creative director with the COCU agency, and Ana Mir, designer and co-founder of Emiliana Design.
