Safety and prevention. The museum is holding an open day, from 11 am to 3 pm.

Admission to the museum is free from 11 am to 3 pm, enabling visitors to discover the collection of items on display and the interactive and audiovisual resources available. There’s no need to book in advance.

There’s a chance to see the latest addition to the permanent exhibition, the Delahave 59E fire engine which arrived in Barcelona in 1920 and was the first vehicle the Barcelona Fire Service had with a ladder mounted on a motor vehicle. The truck reaches a height of 26 metres and weighs 5 tonnes. It was recently restored by the Platform for the Defence of the Historical Heritage of the Barcelona Fire Service.

The display is organised around five themed sections explaining life in this corps: vehicles, fire stations, communication, firefighters and equipment. All the sections feature texts, images, artefacts and an interactive element providing more information on each specific aspect.

The information is backed up with various audiovisuals showing the mission and the role of firefighters and offering a chance to experience an intervention by the fire service to put out a fire in the city.

See you there!
