Eight of the city's shops receive the Christmas Shop-Window Competition prize

For the second year running, Barcelona has held its Neighbourhood Christmas Shop-Window Competition, awarding prizes for the best shop windows in the city’s eight districts. The activity, which has some sixty establishments taking part, aims to promote local consumerism and encourage customer loyalty during the Christmas campaign.

The latest edition of the competition saw 20% more participants than in the previous year and included shops in Bon Pastor, Baró de Viver, Trinitat Nova, Trinitat Vella, Ciutat Meridiana, Les Roquetes, El Besòs i el Maresme and La Marina.

A jury was set up in each neighbourhood to decide on the best shop window, taking into account such aspects as sustainability of materials, design and composition, originality, aesthetic effects and attractiveness to citizens.

The prize awarded to the eight winning establishments is customised commercial advice. Thanks to this support, retailers are expected to be able to improve the economic sustainability of their shops, increase their market share and modernise their communication channels.

Winners received their prizes during an award ceremony held on 15 February at the Ateneu Popular de Nou Barris. Get to know them:
