An October full of commerce and festivities

A variety of commercial activities are being organised in the city this month as part of the local festivals in the districts of Les Corts and Sarrià – Sant Gervasi.

On Wednesday, 5 October, the Mirall de Pedralbes retailers' association takes over from Horta and Gràcia to offer its own local trade fair. Over the course of three days, in what is now becoming a regular annual event, the square by the same name will act as an open air showcase for local commerce and services, including food and drink, seasonal fashion and accessories, gifts and decorative items.

On 8 October the fair moves on to C/ Joan Güell. Apart from the usual offering from local traders there will be a solidarity draw, including two full hampers of craft products, workshops and the sale of items from collaborating brands, all in aid of SICAR. Finally, Sarrià – Sant Gervasi is the last district this month (22 October) to offer this sort of fair at strategic points around the district such as C/ Major, Ptge. Reina Elisenda and Plaça de la Vila. Stalls will be offering a wide array of items, typical of local commerce, and there will also be a gastronomy fair offering evening tastings.

Anyone with an interest in second hand markets will also have a chance to find their own little treasures at the Riera Blanca Market.

For organic food fans, the Museu Marítim de Barcelona is organising the Festival Orgànic. Learn the latest techniques for meditation and yoga, take part in dance and showcooking sessions, and discover a culinary market and showroom for craft products over the weekend of 15 and 16 October.
