Open to the future

This programme offers training in business management and new technologies adapted to the needs of local shop and service professionals.

Open to the Future, an initiative from the Councillor's Office for Employment, Enterprise, Commerce and Tourism and the Department of Commerce at Barcelona City Council, through Barcelona Activa and in collaboration with the districts and retailers' associations, consists of free 3-hour training capsules and workshops that meet the needs of retail businesses today.

The workshops will be offered in the city's 10 districts and Municipal Markets, and at times that have been adapted for retailers and stallholders.

The aim of the programme is for you to:

• Learn about new trends in the sector that can help you boost and innovate in your business
• Improve your customers' shopping experience
• Discover the opportunities that the internet and social networks offer small retailers
• Use IT to improve the management of your business
• Learn about tools for interpreting your business figures
