“Tapantoni” kicks off, the Sant Antoni tapas route with 57 participating establishments

A new edition of “Tapantoni”, the tapas route around the Sant Antoni neighbourhood organised by the Sant Antoni Comerç association, gets under way. From today until 27 May, 56 neighbourhood establishments will be offering tapas with a drink for €2.50 or a special menu for €25.

“Tapantoni” joins other tapas routes that open to the general public when the good weather arrives, such as “Atrapa la tapa” in Sant Andreu, and “Pinxu Panxo” in Nou Barris. These events are an opportunity for local restauranteurs to promote their cuisine, boosting local trade at the same time. 

Shops associated with Sant Antoni Comerç will be giving out fold-out maps of the neighbourhood to their customers that show where the participating establishments are, together with pictures of the tapas and menus they offer.

Two competitions

The latest edition of the spring “Tapantoni” also has two accompanying competitions. People taking part in “Choose and Win” can vote for the establishment they think has offered them the best tapa or menu. Voting slips must be handed in at the establishments. In the Coaster Design competition, you can put forward your own drinks mat design ideas. The winning entry will be printed and distributed around the various establishments for the next Tapantoni this autumn.

All the establishments taking part are members of Sant Antoni Comerç and are committed to improving and promoting the neighbourhood. On the Tapantoni website you can see the bars and restaurants taking part in the spring edition which starts today, along with pictures of the tapas and special menus.

The Sant Antoni neighbourhood, along with its residents and traders, are impatiently awaiting the unveiling of its remodelled market on the last weekend of May. Sant Antoni Comerç is the association that groups together the shops that belong to it in the neighbourhood streets, the Food Market, Els Encants (second-hand market) and the Dominical del Llibre (Sunday book market).
