The ICUB's intention in announcing this call is to help cultural venues which are open to the public to cover part of their basic overheads.

The Institute of Culture has announced its call for applications for grants and subsidies aimed funding projects intended for renovating, modernising and providing technical equipment for private cultural creation, experimentation, dissemination and business spaces, open to the public, which carry out their activities in Barcelona for 2017.

It is through this call for applications that ICUB wishes to cooperate in the improvement, modernisation and adaptation to current legislation of Barcelona’s private cultural creation, production, dissemination and business establishments.

The Barcelona Institute of Culture (ICUB) has approved the granting of subsidies by competitive tendering for investments for the purposes of carrying out acoustic impact studies, installing sound-level limiting-recording equipment, and refurbishing and installing technical equipment in live music establishments open to the public in Barcelona, for 2017

The ICUB's intention in announcing this call is to support live music establishments open to the public that need refurbishing or investing in equipment.

The deadline for application submissions is this coming 16 October 2017

Call for subsidy and grant applications for one-off artistic, literary and technological projects or for projects in any cultural discipline of interest for the city.

This call for applications is aimed at awarding grants and subsidies, on a competitive basis, for projects in various forms of cultural expression (performing arts, music, dance, audiovisual, visual arts, literature, science, technology, sociocultural disciplines etc.). The projects must be of interest for the city, last less than a month and be carried out between 1 July and 31 December 2017 in Barcelona, helping to improve the city’s range of cultural offers.

The application period starts from June 6 to July 3, 2017.

The Institute of Culture (ICUB) has approved the granting of subsidies by competitive tendering for investments in information and communication technologies (ICTs) to conduct experimental and innovative projects in Barcelona.

The ICUB's intention in announcing this call is to give support to entities in the fields of culture, creativity, experimentation and innovation that need to invest in ICT equipment to carry out experimental and innovative projects with citizen participation, as well as improve their own technological situation.

The application presentation period is from 11 to 31 July 2017. Applications may be presented online using a digital certificate or in person at any Barcelona City Council registry.

2017 subsidies for the renovation and adaptation of establishments within the City of Barcelona used by organisations registered on the Youth Organisations Census.

For 2017, Barcelona City Council has approved subsidy adjudications for the renovation and adaptation of City of Barcelona establishments used by organisations registered on the Directorate General for Youth's census of youth organisations, so that they can carry out mainly educational activities in free time, for the social care and support of groups of adolescents and promoting youth activities.

The aim of these subsidies is to ensure that the facilities comply with the minimum technical requirements for fulfilling their purpose, the proper provision of the services they offer and ensuring the quality of life and safety of local residents and users.

Grants from the Institute of Culture of Barcelona City Council for activities, projects and artistic and cultural services lasting more than one year and starting in 2017.

Barcelona Institute of Culture has published the general grant call for artistic and cultural projects, activities and services in the city of Barcelona which last longer than twelve months.

The application period for 2017 is open from 8 to 28 February inclusive.

Call for subsidies for schools and colleges in the city of Barcelona to develop an action plan as part of the ‘Barcelona Escoles + Sostenibles 2017-2018’ programme

The aim of these subsidies is to offer schools and colleges catering for all levels and age groups in the city of Barcelona resources to develop an educational action plan on sustainability. The plan should span one or three school years and will form part of the ‘Barcelona Escoles + Sostenibles’ programme.

Applicants must present the following documents, duly stamped and signed, within the specified application period:

  • Basic document 1: application form for the subsidy. This contains a statement of compliance, which replaces the administrative document at the time the application is made.
  • Basic document 2 - Project description. This is a PDF document, generated by the project editor and available at Escoles + Sostenibles. It should be presented together with basic document 1.

 

The application period will run from 21 July to 22 September this year, both dates inclusive.

Grant call for organisations dedicated to the areas of global justice and international cooperation for projects starting in 2017

Official grant call for the concession of subsidies under the framework of the Cooperation Programme for Global Justice, the Cooperation Programme for Global Justice for Specific Cities and the Education Programme for Global Justice, having regard to the specifications that apply to these subsidies and which come into force in 2017.

The period for submitting applications will run from 1 to 21 March 2017 inclusive.

The Culture Institute has approved 2016 subsidies, based on a competitive system set out by the regulations for granting subsidies for the renovation and the installation of technical equipment in bookshops in the city of Barcelona for 2016.

The ICUB is offering these subsidies with the aim of helping bookshops make the necessary investment to improve and modernise their facilities and services.

The intention of the ICUB in announcing this call is to give support to private artistic and cultural creation, experimentation, dissemination and exhibition centres which, with their test, trial and experimentation focus offer resources, tools and services to creators. These may include artistic residencies and are characterised by the cross-disciplinary nature of artistic languages.

For the purpose of supporting neighbourhood community initiatives, Barcelona City Council has approved subsidies for non-profit organisations to carry out such actions in the city in 2017.

The City Council is therefore publishing its subsidy and grant application period for the planning, managing and monitoring of community development plans in the city of Barcelona.

Applications may be submitted from between June 20 to July 17, 2017.

Subsidies for supporting up-and-coming artistic projects in the field of the performing arts, presented in live-format shows, to promote their inclusion in the Barcelona market.

The Barcelona Institute of Culture has announced subsidies to support up-and-coming artistic projects in the field of the performing arts, presented in live-format shows, to promote their inclusion in the Barcelona market.

The main aim of this subsidy is to help new companies perform their work in city theatres and at the same time help theatres open up to new projects, reducing the financial risk taken on by creators.

The deadline for applications is 30 October 2017.

Subsidies for alterations to places of worship belonging to Barcelona religious organisations

Subsidies subject to this public notice will be granted on a competitive basis. Subsidies granted through this public notice will be for investments initiated on or after 1 July 2016 and finished before 31 October 2017, concerning the alteration and adaptation of establishments in the city of Barcelona that are not owned by the municipal government or other administrations and which are used for acts of worship.

The deadline for presenting applications will be 20 working days from the day after the publication of the notice in the Province of Barcelona's Official Gazette, from 9 November to 7 December.

Barcelona City Council grants for the promotion and strengthening of the social and solidarity economy

Grants awarded to carry out activities and projects promoting and strengthening the social and solidarity economy in the city of Barcelona.

Activities and projects awarded grants must promote activities of public or social interest which contribute to the objectives set out in the plan to boost the social and solidarity economy 2016-2019. That means they must promote and strengthen the work areas set out in the plan, including and developing common elements which define the transformational character of the social and solidarity economy, such as democratic and participatory management, being based around human needs and being committed to the community.

Applications for grants can be submitted from 29 May to 27 June 2017 inclusive.

Call for subsidy and grant applications, aimed at ordering and adapting the premises of cultural bodies representing other cities and regional communities with a registered office in Barcelona, for 2017

The procedure for granting subsidies and grants forming the subject matter of this call is on a competitive basis.

The aim behind the grants and subsidies is cooperation in adapting non-profit social and cultural venues which, given their nature, are unable to bear the costs of such renovation projects on their own.

So the aim is also to provide access to premises for the public, other groups and bodies, so as to promote knowledge among non-affiliated individuals and to strengthen the association network, community action and joint work.

The application submission period starts on the day following publication in the Official Barcelona Province Gazette (BOP) and finish twenty work days afterwards. 1th June to 29 June 2017, first and last days included.

Grant application period for local socio-economic initiatives

Grants awarded to carry out projects, activities and services in the spheres of local development, the promotion of jobs and the social and solidarity economy.

The grants are intended to provide the funding necessary for the city’s districts and neighbourhoods by empowering those developing socio-economic activities in the city with the aim of making it more sustainable over time and more resilient to economic fluctuations. That means bolstering projects with a social vocation or return which improve people’s quality of life and reduce socio-economic inequalities.

Barcelona City Council has published a general call for subsidies to district and city projects, activities and services. Over the years, the calendar for this call has been brought forward to ensure that applicants receive the subsidies at the earliest possible moment.

Consequently, this year the period to present applications for the 2015 call will be from 29 November to 18 December 2014.

Call for grant applications for Develop Cooperation and Specific Cities

After interpreting and accepting the recommendations of the United Nations, Barcelona City Council has agreed to allocate part of its budget to cooperation and solidarity.

One of the instruments it will use to help it meet the set objectives is the establishment of a programme of subsidies for the Development Cooperation and Education for Development projects carried out by NGOs and non-profit private entities within the framework of the Master Plan for Development Cooperation, Solidarity and Peace of Barcelona City Council for 2013-2016.

The period for presenting applications at the Citizen Advice Offices is from 29 January to 20 February 2015. The models to be presented can be found on this page.

Barcelona City Council has approved the 2014 grants for the arrangement and renovation of premises in Barcelona intended for free-time education for children, teenagers and young people, as well as for places of worship for religious bodies.

The aim of these grants is to ensure these facilities comply with the minimum technical requirements needed for them to fulfil their role, that they deliver their services correctly and that they to do so in a manner that maintains the quality of life and safety of local residents and users.

The submission period for applications runs from 29 May to 22 June 2015 and applications should be submitted in Citizen Advice and Information Centres. The relevant forms may be found on this webpage.

 

Grants and subsidies for planning, managing and monitoring Community Development Plans in Barcelona

For the purposes of supporting community neighbourhood initiatives, Barcelona City Council has given its approval for the award of grants and subsidies to non-profit organisations to carry out such initiatives in the city for 2015.

Barcelona City Council will therefore publish its call for subsidy and grant applications for Managing, Planning and Monitoring Community Development Plans in Barcelona.

To be eligible for grants and subsidies the projects will have to have cohesion and social inclusion as their main goal, involving community initiatives for promoting social relations and a sense of belonging and for boosting cooperative relations between members of a certain venue in Barcelona, by incorporating attention to our city's diversity of collectives.

The application presentation period for the call will be from 1 and 17 July 2015, first and last days inclusive.

Application forms and other documents will be available on this website as from 1 July. Applications and other documents will have to be presented at one of Barcelona's Citizen Help and Information Office.

Subsidies for the 2015 City Christmas Street Lights Campaign

Retailers Associations representing the sector are working closely with Barcelona City Council to promote urban and local commerce with a set of initiatives focusing on the Christmas festivities. The aim is to produce the right conditions and a Christmas atmosphere that will help to stimulate demand at one of the most important times of the year for economic activity.

For the purposes of providing continuity to this collaboration, the call has now been launched for subsidies for the 2015 City Christmas Street Lights Campaign

Applications and their requisite documents must be addressed to the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs and presented to any Citizen Help and Information Office Register on forms you can download from here, within the period starting on 1 July and ending on 10 September 2015.

Remember that it is extremely important to include the budget for the installation company authorised by Barcelona City Council's Lighting Department. You will find a list of these companies with the other documents.

Justification

The final decision on awards and rejections in the call for Barcelona City Council grants and subsidies for the 2015 Christmas Street Lighting Campaign was published in the Official Barcelona Province Gazette (BOPB) on 10 February 2016.

The requisite documentary evidence for these grants and subsidies must be presented under the terms, conditions and form established under Point 10 of the call's terms and conditions. Documentation should be presented and registered at any one of the city's Citizen Help and Information Offices (OAC) and addressed to the Department of Commerce and Consumer Services.

Subsidies for the 2016 City Christmas Street Lights Campaign

Retail associations and traders collabrate closely with Barcelona City Council to promote urban and local commerce via a series of initiatives for the Christmas period. The aim is to generate the right atmosphere and conditions to stimulate demand during one of the most important periods of economic activity in the year.

Building on this collaboration, this year's subsidies for Christmas street lighting in the city have now been announced.

Applications and supporting documentation should be presented using the forms available here and can be handed in at any registry at Citizen Help and Information Offices (OAC), addressed to the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, from 25 June to 20 July 2016 inclusive.

Barcelona City Council aims to provide support for Barcelona's officially resident unemployed who have embarked on a new financial activity as freelance workers (individual entrepreneurs) or new members of associated work cooperatives, under the terms and conditions provided for under the regulatory provisions approved by the Government Commission on 28 July 2016.

The application-submission period runs from 12 September 2016 to 30 November 2016.

Subsidies for natural or legal persons acquiring a company with up to 10 employees located in the city of Barcelona

Award of subsidies for natural or legal persons acquiring a company with up to 10 employees located in the city of Barcelona and which is currently trading in the retail, service or restaurant sector.

Barcelona City Council is looking to help natural or legal persons who have acquired businesses as a going concern which are located in Barcelona. The aim is to back entrepreneurial continuity and handovers for the period between 1 January 2015 and 30 November 2016, under the terms and conditions set out in the legal bases approved by the Government Commission on 28 July 2016.

The application period is open from 12 September to 30 November 2016.

Subsidies for property tax (IBI) for companies creating employment, corresponding to 2016

Application period for public, non-competitive subsidies for 2016 for companies liable to pay property tax (IBI) or which pay property tax on their rent instalments and have taken on new personnel with permanent contracts during the tax period immediately prior to the one when the application is made, and which are not liable to pay economic activity tax (IAE).

The application period is open from 5 October to 4 November 2016.

Subsidies for property tax (IBI) for low-income households, corresponding to 2016

The subsidies are available to natural persons who are liable to pay tax as property owners or who pay property tax on their rent instalments, and who, along with those in the same household, have gross incomes below thresholds set out in the Catalonia Adequate Income Indicator (IRSC), providing the home in question is their habitual residence.

The application period is open from 5 October to 4 November 2016.

Subsidies for children and youths aged from 6 to 17 to pursue extra-curricular sports activities in the city of Barcelona during the 2016-2017 school year.

The Barcelona Institute of Sports has opened a subsidy campaign for extracurricular sports activities. The overall budget set aside for the subsidies is 1.6 million euros and they are aimed at youngsters between 6 and 17 years of age in families with limited incomes, who official reside in Barcelona, and who have pre-registered for a sports activity with a certified entity taking part in the "L’Esport ens fa més grans" programme.

This call for investments in ICT infrastructures aims to boost the implementation of experimental and innovative projects with public participation. Requests for grants and subsidies must be connected to projects working on the "city as a space for experimentation" concept.

The aim behind this call for grant and subsidy applications is to offer applicants new opportunities not just for developing projects concentrated on the exploration of new formats and types of public but also for highlighting the role of the public as an active player in the cultural or technological experimentation and innovation process.
