The Night Council starts working with relevant stakeholders
Citizen organisations and representatives from associations take part in the first meeting by the permanent commission, in a session introducing strategic approaches with specific projects and channels for dialogue and mediation.
The permanent commission is tasked with working on the goals and plans of the Night Council in plenary sessions. This newly created body has the goal of driving measures through participation, dialogue and communication with the different stakeholders involved.
Participating in this first session were the Mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, the Night Commissioner, Carme Zapata, members of local organisations and community associations from the spheres of women’s councils, elderly people, LGBTI, young people and local festivals, plus representatives from the sectors of restaurants, nightlife, hospitality, tourism and commerce.
Night Office
The new Night Office will work with new proposals, in dialogue with all stakeholders and with the goal of improving coexistence and balance between activity at night and local people’s hours of rest. The office will also channel coordination with the various municipal teams and public and private services.
