Corpus is a historical, popular celebration that has become part of the city’s cultural heritage. The most well known symbol of this festival is the dancing egg, a tradition that started back in 1637 in which water jets and the fountains in some cloisters and courtyards, decked with flowers, show the interplay between water and an egg. Barcelona City Council has continued this tradition year after year for all the city’s residents.
