Isaías Griñolo

The projects of the visual artist, filmmaker and curator Isaías Griñolo (Huelva, 1963) deal with antagonistic issues and practices through the relationships between memory, ecology, flamenco, art and poetry. 

Ever since 2011, he has been developing his multidisciplinary proposal historia_contemporánea, which has been presented in various national and international museums and spaces, such as the Secession (Vienna), Auguste Orts (Brussels), Centre Georges Pompidou (Paris) and MNCARS (Madrid). 

One of his most important works is Las fatigas de la muerte / MEP (2010-2011), in addition to his film essays La España profunda (de Ortega y Gasset a Rocío Jurado) (2018), Auschwitz on the Beach (2019) and 135 – 47 = 88 (2021). In live cinema, he made Cantes tóxicos (Toxic Singing), a set of pieces for the Los Flamencos collective, featuring the poet Antonio Orihuela and the flamenco singer Niño de Elche.
