Service information in connection with the Formula 1 Barcelona Fan Festival

A group of Formula 1 drivers will be driving along Passeig de Gràcia on Wednesday 19 June, on a small circuit that will run from Ronda Sant Pere to C/ Aragó and back again. The display will cause some disruptions to mobility in this area. Restrictions will gradually come into force, starting at 4 pm on 18 June and ending at 6 am on 20 June. It is advisable to plan journeys in advance and to allow plenty of time. Disruptions will primarily affect transversal routes crossing the exhibition area, so it is advisable to check out the best alternatives for crossing Passeig de Gràcia in the stretch above C/ Aragó and Plaça de Catalunya.  Public transport users and pedestrians will also be affected, so once again it is advisable to check your route in advance.

Private vehicles

From 4 pm on Tuesday 18 June until 6 am on Thursday 20 June, vehicles will not be allowed to circulate in the area closest to Plaça de Catalunya, which includes the following streets:

  • Ronda Sant Pere and Ronda Universitat (between C/ Pau Claris and Rambla de Catalunya)
  • Plaça de Catalunya (Bèsos side and road surface nearest the mountains)
  • Passeig de Gràcia (between Plaça de Catalunya and Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes)
  • C/ Casp (between Passeig de Gràcia and C/ Pau Claris)

Vehicles travelling along Ronda Sant Pere in the direction of Plaça Urquinaona will have to turn off at C/ Roger de Llúria or C/ Pau Claris; those travelling around Plaça de Catalunya in the direction of the mountain will need to take C/ Fontanella, and finally, traffic heading down Passeig de Gràcia in the direction of the sea will have to turn off at Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes.

From 10 pm on Tuesday 18 June until 6 am on Thursday 20 June, a further traffic restriction will be added to those already in place:

  • Passeig de Gràcia, between Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes and C/ Aragó, without affecting the side lanes.

The main alternative for traffic heading upwards will be C/ Roger de Llúria, and traffic heading down Passeig de Gràcia will be diverted along C/ Aragó.

The day of the F1 exhibition, 19 June, will be the day of greatest disruption to mobility, when traffic restrictions in the central area will be added to those already in place since the day before. The new traffic restrictions will remain in place from 11 am until 11 pm on Wednesday. At that time, three of the streets that cut across Passeig de Gràcia will be closed:

  • Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes (between Rambla de Catalunya and C/ Pau Claris)
  • C/ Diputació (between Rambla Catalunya and C/ Pau Claris)
  • C/ Consell de Cent (between Rambla Catalunya and C/ Pau Claris)

Those travelling in private vehicles are advised to avoid taking Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes from Plaça Espanya, and to seek alternative routes in the Llobregat-Besòs direction. If continuing along Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, traffic will be diverted along C/ Comte d’Urgell and C/ Aribau.

If heading in the direction of Besòs-Llobregat, it is advisable not to use Ronda Sant Pere or C/ Diputació in the central area of the city, and to seek alternative routes. If using these streets, diversions will be in place on C/ Roger de Llúria and C/ Pau Claris. C/ Consell de Cent will remain closed at C/ Balmes, and vehicles will have to divert along this street, heading towards the sea.
