Work begins on the structure to cover a new section of the Ronda de Dalt
Work is now under way to cover the Ronda de Dalt in Horta-Guinardó, between the Institut Vall d’Habron and Av. Vallcarca. The work includes the construction of the wall in the central reservation of the ringroad, which will support the structure, the roof cover, access for services and the conditioning of the tunnel, with six emergency exits and a technical room in one of them.
The project as a whole is expected to be finished in May 2027. Along with the section already completed between Av. Jordà and the Institut Vall d’Hebron, this area will represent a total of 540 metres of road covered and transformed into a green public space.
One lane closed in each direction
To enable the structural work to be completed, one traffic lane will be closed in the direction of the Besòs on the night of Wednesday, 26 June, and another lane closed in the direction of the Llobregat the following night, in a section of 650 metres, between exits 5 and 6. The lane closures will be in place between C/ Granja Vella and C/ Anna Piferrer until September, with two lanes operating in each direction until then.
Consensus over the way the work is carried out
The commission for the agreement on the transformation of the Ronda de Dalt and its environs, which brings together local associations, social organisations, experts and municipal groups, will discuss and define the uses for the new urban space to be generated. This work will be executed from 2027. The stages that follow will also be developed within the framework of the commission.
