Barcelona discusses the key role of the brand and reputation of cities in the post-Covid-19 context

The first deputy mayor Jaume Collboni today highlighted the role of cities as agents of the first magnitude in the economic and social recovery

The webinar “Rethinking the City Brand in times of Covid19. Roadmaps to economic and social recovery ” organized by Barcelona City Council, in collaboration with the UPF Barcelona School of Management, in the framework of the series of webinars “Rethinking society”.

It brings together experts and speakers from six cities and four international universities specializing in city branding. All of them representatives from cities such as Lisbon, Oslo, London and Tel Aviv as well as academics from Chinese, Polish and British universities

First Deputy Mayor Jaume Collboni took part today in the international webinar on city branding Webinar “Rethinking the City Brand in times of Covid19. Roadmaps to economic and social recovery ”in the frame of the webinar series “Rethinking society” of the UPF Barcelona School of Management, co-organized with Barcelona City Council.

The webinar addresses from different perspectives aspects of image management and the reputation of cities that can be erected as a key factor for their economic and social recovery, guided by a new model of safer, healthier economic development. , more environmentally sustainable and more socially just.

In his speech, the Deputy Mayor for Economy, Labor, Competitiveness and Finance, Jaume Collboni, highlighted the challenge for cities to rethink and recover the economic and social pulse: “Barcelona has taken a path where innovation and public-private collaboration become keys to overcoming challenges while the security of the city in a broad sense is not stopped, from a health and economic point of view ”. In this, Collboni continued, “Barcelona’s DNA plays a role in defining this catalytic moment, because cities must be agents of the first magnitude, and have more and better tools, resources and skills and must be addressed from the widest possible point of view, because we will need to live in more humane, more sustainable, more hygienic and healthy urban environments ”.

At the opening of the Webinar “Rethinking the City Brand in times of Covid19. Roadmaps to and social recovery  Oriol Amat, dean of the UPF Barcelona School of Management, and the Professor Greg Clark, prestigious urban planning specialist and global city consultant. The webinar has a total of ten speakers from six different cities and four international universities specializing in city branding (city branding) of international renown, all of them responsible for city branding, communication, investment attraction and international talent of the cities in Lisbon, Oslo, London and Tel Aviv as well as academics from Chinese, Polish and British universities.
