Madrid. Dance. Barcelona premiere
You may have already seen Albert Hernández and Irene Tena, two former dancers with the Spanish National Ballet, at Grec 2025. Now in their own choreographic project, they are seeking new perspectives for contemporary Spanish dance. One of the outcomes of this inquiry is
E Loca [Madwoman] (2023), a short piece for two dancers who engage in dialogue about madness. They do so with organic, honest dance rooted in the earth and free of prejudice. Pay attention to the rope, the stool and the fan, three objects that are a crucial part of the montage and express anger, understanding and unease.
La Venidera is a company directed by Albert Hernández and Irene Tena. In 2020, they were invited to be the guest choreographers at the Spanish National Ballet to create
l Sevilla , which is now part of the institution’s repertoire. Since then, they have created choreographies like Loca , Paseantes and Pineda , a production of the Flamenco Ballet of Andalusia. They have also choreographed and featured in a documentary about Antonia Mercé, La Argentina , with the Fundación Juan March.
