The origin of this book lies in an article the author wrote for an issue that the magazine Revista de Catalunya produced as a tribute to Albert Manent. The personal and literary relations between an older Carles Riba and the young Albert Manent were an important subject, so it was worth compiling all the documentary material into one volume. The book opens with the author's articles on Manent. These are followed by personal and panoramic views on the character of the poet, and then the book concludes with the main articles and studies Manent wrote on Carles Riba.
