Continuing to develop and expand the educational and community leisure project Baobab

The aim of the Baobab programme is to promote educational leisure in the community (youth clubs, etc.) on weekends in neighbourhoods where there is no or little offering of this kind. The programme is part of the Neighbourhood Plan and seeks to strengthen educational leisure in vulnerable neighbourhoods. To do so, it has promoted and created youth clubs in neighbourhoods where there was none and has strengthened them in neighbourhoods where the offering is poor. The programme is active throughout the school year and in the summer.

As a result of this programme, youth clubs and activity centres have been set up in seven of Barcelona’s districts, and the plan is to continue to support key neighbourhoods and set up activity centres in all ten city districts.
