“Noucentisme” was a Catalan political and cultural movement that emerged at the beginning of the 20th century which would transform Catalonia and bring it in line with other modern European societies of the time. It was greatly influential on the arts and architecture. During this period the city of Barcelona underwent a significant transformation thanks to the works of artist and architects from all over Catalonia such as Joaquim Sunyer, Joaquim Torres Garcia, Josep Clarà, Josep Puig i Cadafalch, etc.
