Safety operation prepared for the Festa Major de Sants 2025
Safety operations will be stepped up in the neighbourhood and surrounding areas during the local festival in Sants, mainly working on prevention. The City Police will be working to prevent and report anti-social behaviour.
Coexistence and respect for others
Priority will be given to closing times for premises, unauthorised street vending, the sale of alcohol to minors, alcohol consumption and inconvenience in public streets and squares, plus excessive noise.
Prevention and support for victims of gender violence and LGBTI-phobia
Purple points
Work will be conducted on the prevention of sexual violence, particularly in nightlife areas.
In an effort to prevent possible cases of sexual harassment and to assist and advise people who might suffer gender violence, a purple point will be set up at the Espai Castellers (parking in C/ Viriat), which will be operational at nights and during the early hours from 23 to 30 August.
A complementary purple point will also be operating in the Parc de l’Espanya Industrial on Tuesday 26 for the unitary concert.
All street bars during the festival will also have people assigned to provide support in cases of aggression in their spaces.
Safe routes
Coordinated by the City Police, this summer’s safe routes will also be strengthened with service auxiliaries. The strategy is geared towards guaranteeing order and safety in public spaces, particularly in areas with more nightlife.
Night mediation service
An itinerant pair of specialists in the resolution of conflicts will be operating around the Parc de l’Espanya Industrial and the Espai Castellers on 29 and 30 August, in coordination with the purple point.
Controlling crowds
The operation is set to establish control points to help filter the volume and flow of people and spaces with large numbers of people. The focus will be on entrance and exit times for the programmed events and the points where the largest volumes of people are expected at festival spaces.
