This funerary area was in use between the 1st and 3rd centuries AD, and with the passage of time and the constant deposition of silt from the river, it ended up being completely buried, which helped to preserve it.
Next to the archaeological site you'll find the Interpretation Centre, where you can see the artefacts found at the site, and learn about how the territory of Barcino was organised, centuriation, roads and paths, as well as the complexities of Roman funerary customs, thanks to the rites documented in the necropolis.
