Admission price for Park Güell to cost 18 euros
Tourism. The proposal comes as part of the increase to taxes on tourism in the city.
The tourist admission price for Park Güell is set to rise from the current 10 euros to 18 euros. The measure is part of the revision of tax by-laws and the strategy to increase taxes on tourism in the city.
Park Güell is the second most visited monument in the city, with nearly 4.5 million visitors a year, and is among the ten most visited monuments in the whole of Europe. Yet the admission price is 50% lower than other monumental sites in Europe (with an average price of 20 euros), as well as other Gaudí works open to visitors in the city.
Access to the site has been regulated by Barcelona de Serveis Municipals (BSM) since 2013, the goal being to preserve and maintain the space properly and make activity there compatible with use by local residents and schools. Free and open access continues to be guaranteed for the people of Barcelona, with the “Bon dia, Barcelona” and “Bon vespre, Barcelona” time bands for the exclusive use of local people, the local residents’ card and the Gaudir Més programme.
The proposal has successfully passed through the board of Barcelona de Serveis Municipals and is still to be approved by the Government Commission of the City Council, The proposal comes in parallel to the project for the tax by-laws for 2025, which increases taxes on tourism and the revenue collected by the city.
