Crea Feina programme reaches more people
Employment and jobs. The programme will offer a line for professionals over 45 and another for people in vulnerable situations or at risk of social exclusion.
The Crea Feina programme, which provides subsidies to companies to encourage them to hire unemployed Barcelona residents, is set to receive more funding. An additional €1 million will be added to the budget, allowing for the introduction of a new line for professionals over the age of 45 and another for people in vulnerable situations or at risk of social exclusion.
The total budget for Crea Feina will now be €3 million, which will be used to provide over three hundred subsidies across its various target groups. The new lines, Crea Feina Sèniors and Crea Feina Inclusiva, will complement the existing lines for young people and research talent, which have been active since May 2024.
Companies and organisations wishing to expand their workforce must be located in Barcelona or its metropolitan area to be eligible to apply. Each company can apply for up to ten subsidies, without exceeding the number of employees at the time of the first application. Applications for each of the four lines of aid can be submitted via the Virtual Procedures Office until 31 October 2024.
The sectors with the highest number of jobs created under the Crea Feina programme are commerce (26%); hospitality, tourism and leisure (14%); ICT (13%); business services (10.6%), and industry (9.4%). Furthermore, 53% of the jobs created are in companies with ten employees or fewer.
