Nearly 200 climate shelters to beat the heat in the city
Climate emergency. Some 95% of local people will have a climate shelter within ten minutes of their home to protect them from the high temperatures.

Children. The website for the ‘100% estiu’ campaign includes all municipal summer activities, with 323,000 places at 37 city facilities.

Boosting mental health care in the city
Health. The campaign “Talk about mental health” features the content creator and publicist Mara Jiménez and reminds people they have access to the free service Konsulta’m.
CUESB activity reaches record levels
Social Services. The Barcelona Social Emergency and Urgent Care Centre helped over 37,000 people in 2021, some 42.3% more than in 2020.

Social Services. A budget of 12 million euros has been earmarked for the call. The application period ends on 10 June.
Call from over 200 European cities to be bolder in taking in refugees
Inclusion. The Eurocities Social Affairs Forum is on in Barcelona from 11 to 13 May, bringing together over 150 representatives from cities all over Europe, including councillors and the heads of municipal social services.
