Safety and prevention. Discover the history and work of the Barcelona Fire Service at the Espai Bombers, the only historical fire station remaining in the city.

The Espai Bombers, the only historical fire station remaining in the city, offers a chance to discover the history and work of the Barcelona Fire Service.

A guided tour is available from 11 am to 12 noon on Saturday, 11 February, enabling visitors to discover the history of the Barcelona Fire Service and the building, the first purpose-built fire station of its kind, constructed for the International Expo of 1929.

Also on Saturday, from 12 noon to 2 pm, you can journey through the history of the Barcelona Fire Service with a family workshop. The following day, Sunday 12, the Espai Bombers will be offering its usual Sunday family workshops, from 11.30 am to 1.30 pm.

The Espai Bombers is a permanent exhibition space housed in the former fire station in Poble-sec, the only historical fire station left in the city. The centre offers a chance to discover the history and work of the Barcelona Fire Service through its collection of items, which incudes a Delahaye pump, better known as a Genoveva, one of the most iconic vehicles for the Barcelona Fire Service.

Beside the tools on display, the museum also features interactive and audiovisual resources enabling users to experience the sensations that occur when there is a fire.

To enjoy these free activities this weekend, all you need to do is sign up in advance by sending an email to espaibombers@bcn.cat indicating the chosen session and the number of people attending.

See you there!
