ESC-OUT: Arts Practice Departures and Diversions in the Public Sphere
El Centre d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona - Fabra i Coats is hosting twelve projects by resident artists from La Escocesa.
Until 17 March, pieces by artists-in-residence at the Open Factory of Analogical Creation – La Escocesa will be on show at the Barcelona Centre for Contemporary Art - Fabra i Coats. This is an interdisciplinary and interinstitutional project which, furthermore, aims to highlight the intersectional possibilities between the diverse range of actors and agents who contribute to the arts ecosystem. The purpose of the initiative is to identify paths that can activate arts productions beyond the exhibitory system. ESC-OUT’s arts projects, therefore, depart from the conventional path and, before their arrival at the exhibition centre, are disseminated in the public sphere where the artists and their creations take up a position and attempt to establish spaces of dialogue and influence outside the museum space.
Artists taking part in the project are: Valentina Alvarado Matos, Ricard Casabayó, Juan Antonio Cerezuela, Carmen de Ayora, Daniel De La Barra, Juan David Galindo Guarín, Marla Jacarilla, Wioityuwoityuo, Guillermo Moreno Mirallas, Marina Rubio, Carlos Vásquez Méndez and Tamara Zaitseva. This project is organised by the curatorial team: d'ON MEDIATION/6.
ESC-OUT: Desviaments de les pràctiques artístiques en l'esfera pública will take place on the second floor of the Centre d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona - Fabra i Coats until 17 March. Guided tours will be offered on Saturdays at 6pm and Sundays at 12:30pm. Entry is free. All information can be consulted here.
