MOVING IDENTITIES AT THE NAU IVANOW
The Nau Ivanow is one of the partners in Moving Identities, a new European residency programme focused on diversity in the performing arts.
Six performing arts centres in Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Norway and Spain are celebrating the funding they have received for a three-year residency programme called Moving Identities.
The project was founded in Denmark by the organisation called The Development Platform, with Mikkel Harder as the director.
Moving Identities is an exchange of three-year residencies for performing artists from six European countries. A total of 72 artists will travel between their country of residence and two other countries and will participate in creating a more sustainable, diverse and inclusive platform for European identities in the performing arts.
The six venues that will host the residencies are: The Development Platform for the Performing Arts (Denmark), Vonk (Belgium), Nau Ivanow (Spain), HELLERAU (Germany), Davvi – Centre for Performing Arts (Norway) and Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava (STL) with Vaba Lava (Estonia).
In addition to the residencies, the project will also have five advisory bodies, each playing an essential role in working towards a more sustainable, diverse culture within the European performing arts.
The goals of the project are to achieve a more diverse representation of identities in the performing arts all around Europe and to reinforce the international networks of under-represented artists and boost their visibility through international residencies. Moving Identities also enables the partners to share good practices to ensure that they develop tools to provide support to diverse themes and artists.
