Work permit approved for the first stage of the project at the Camp Nou
The Government Commission has approved the work permit for the major revamp and extension of FC Barcelona’s stadium, the Spotify Camp Nou. The project includes the work to be completed in the subsoil, such as the movement of earth, containing walls and perimeter screens, plus foundations for the basin in readiness for the main building work.
The club already has another permit to demolish the entire top tier of the stadium. This work has been in progress for some weeks now.
In parallel, technical progress on the work permit for the remodelling of the whole stadium continues with the club, the shared aim being to approve this as soon as possible.
This will be the final permit needed for the project and will include the improvements that FC Barcelona wanted to add to the permit to remodel the stadium, awarded in 2022 and processed according to the project by the previous executive board. The amendments to be made correspond to improvements in sustainability, innovation, technology and accessibility.
