Elderly people. Centres are re-opening, guaranteeing the safety measures decreed by the health authorities.
The city’s network of municipal centres and spaces for elderly people are gradually resuming their activity after they had to close down in March 2020 due to the Covid-19 health emergency. Activities involving close physical contact and sharing materials are still suspended for the time being.
Municipal centres and spaces for the elderly are the last facilities to re-open for on-site activities, even though they reactivated their programmes with a virtual format and outdoor activities on 1 September. Even so, it was not until a few weeks ago that they opened their doors for the public to go inside again.
Some centres remain closed for various reasons, including the Casal Canigó, the Casal Turó de la Peira, the Casal Montmany and the Casal Cardener. The Casal de Trinitat Nova is currently offering activities in a space at the Casal de Barri de Trinitat Nova. All spaces guarantee the safety and prevention measures established by the authorities.
Opening times are from Monday to Friday, morning and afternoon, dictated by the activities programmed at each facility. The information service maintains its usual hours, offering personalised information.
To avoid build-ups of people, any activities involving close contact or sharing materials will not be able to go ahead. With regard to civic and community activities in small groups, these can go ahead inside centres, maintaining minimum physical distances at all times. These activities can be increased to 70% of the authorised capacity if air quality and ventilation conditions established by the authorities are complied with.
Physical activities indoors can only go ahead in small groups. If held outdoors, capacity can be increased to 70%. Similarly, small groups can work on allotments.
In terms of cultural activities, these can be conducted with 70% of the total capacity up to a maximum of 1,000 people per hall, always seated and respecting safety distances. Singing is allowed in groups of up to 20 artists, depending on the capacity of the venue and maintaining the established safety distances.
Open-access spaces for interaction, the newspaper and magazine reading service and bar and café services remain suspended for the time being.
