The treated residual water can have a second use as non-potable water and some of the uses are:
- Urban cleaning
- Water for recreational parks
- Industrial and environmental uses
- Injection of water in aquifers
Once the water is purified, it is poured again into the environment where it can be used again in some cases, or can be regenerated with a new additional treatment in order to be reused.
The reuse is essential for the integral management of the water and has an increasing interest, especially in zones that suffer from water limitation, either for the strong pressure of supplies in growing populations, for the seasonal variations in climates like ours or from the need to improve the quality of the spills in the environment.
