The project consists of increasing the service level of the current H12 bus line, which runs along Gran Via de Barcelona in both directions, as well as converting it into an electric line and incorporating connectivity and automation enablers ( Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, etc.).
This line was chosen given its volume of users (7.6 million people annually), the number of stops it makes along its route (66), and its numerous connections with other bus lines , by metro and other modes of public transport such as the tram, the railway and the train.
Targets
Convert the H12 line into a line with services similar to a BRT (Bus Rapid Transport), promoting electric and efficient mobility.
Facilitate the collection of data regarding the operation of public transport to improve its effectiveness.
Pilot Tests:
In addition to the progressive renewal of the line's bus fleet, connectivity regulators have been enabled at traffic lights at different intersections of the Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes.
