Accessibility declaration for the "Barcelona a la butxaca" Android app
Barcelona City Council has committed to making its "Barcelona a la butxaca" Android app accessible, in accordance with Royal Decree 1112/2018, of 7 September, on the accessibility of public-sector websites and applications for mobile devices (hereafter, Royal Decree 1112/2018, of 7 September).
This accessibility declaration applies to the "Barcelona a la butxaca" app, which is available on Google Play Open in a new window.
This declaration was prepared on 14 January 2022.
Compliance status
This app is partially compliant with Royal Decree 1112/2018, of 7 September.
Accessible content
The following steps have been taken to give users easier access to all content and features in Barcelona City Council's "Barcelona a la butxaca” app:
Identification
- The use of colour as the only means of transmitting information has been avoided.
- The instructions for interacting with the content avoid referring to specific controls by their colour, shape, visual location, size, etc., so that they may be identified regardless of users' sensory capabilities.
- Criteria under standard UNE-EN 301549:2019: 11.1.3.3 and 11. 1.4.1.
Controls for content in movement:
- Sufficient controls have been provided for content that autoplays or plays intermittently.
- The page can be browsed using only a cursor, with the option of cancelling the action of clicking on any actionable element.
- No items flash more than three times per second.
- Criteria under standard UNE-EN 301549:2019: 11.1.4.2, 11.2.2.1, 11.2.2.2, 11.2.3.1, 11.2.5.1, 11.2.5.2 and 11.2.5.4.
Language:
- The language for the app's contents has been correctly specified.
- Criteria under standard UNE-EN 301549:2019: 11.3.1.1 and 11.3.1.2.
Purpose of the links
- The purpose of the links or controls has been correctly described. The icons that work as links have text alternatives that make it possible to understand the destination.
- Criteria under standard UNE-EN 301549:2019: 11.2.4.4.
User preferences
- The app uses the colour, contrast, font, font size and cursor settings specified by users in the operating system.
- Criteria under standard UNE-EN 301549:2019: requirements of section 12.7.
Non-accessible content
The app may have the following barriers:
Text alternatives
- Some images, images of text and icons may not contain sufficient text alternatives. Text alternatives may not match the content.
- Criteria under standard UNE-EN 301549:2019: 11.1.1.1 and 11.2.5.3.
Audiovisual content:
- Audiovisual resources may be incorrectly subtitled. An audio description or text alternative may also be missing.
- Criteria under standard UNE-EN 301549:2019: 11.1.2.1, 11.1.2.2, 11.1.2.3, 11.1.2.4 and 11.1.2.5.
Coherent structure:
- A consistent structure across all screens (menus, headings, list markers, tables, etc.) throughout the app cannot be ensured.
- It cannot be ensured that the text of headers and labels provides an accurate description of the content.

Guidance:
- The app or some of its screens may not adapt to changes in orientation of the device screen.

- There may be forms with incorrectly associated labels or without accessible labels.
- Changes of context may occur in some forms while information is being entered. For example, new windows or tabs may open up.
- Autocomplete attributes may not be provided in fields for entering personal information.
- Some errors may not be detected when completing the form, or suggestions for correcting them may not be provided.

Colour contrast:
- There may be contrast barriers in text and interactive elements.

Zooming in:
- The content of the app may not be correctly displayed when increasing the font size to 200%.
- There may be one or more text images.
- Part of the content may be lost when zooming in to 400%.
- There may also be problems when trying to increasing font size.

Compatibility with support products
- The app may not properly convey some of its features, such as labels for controls, values or table items, among others, to support products.
