Congrés L5 metro station closed on Saturday 11 May
The Congrés L5 metro station will be closed for work to be carried out on Saturday, 11 May. The line will be operating normally from Cornellà Centre to La Sagrera, and from Maragall to Vall d’Hebron, with service at the Congrés station expected to resume from 5 am on Sunday, 12 May.
Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona will be cutting its L5 metro service between the stations of La Sagrera and Maragall to carry out maintenance work on the section at the Congrés station, which requires more time than the usual period for maintenance tasks when the metro is closed.
As a result, from the start of service on Saturday, 11 May, to the start of service early in the morning the following day, the line will practically be operating as normal, covering the route from Cornellà to La Sagrera, and from Maragall to Vall d’Hebron. The work is entirely necessary for the L5 service to run properly and will not affect the frequency of trains, which will be running just like any other Saturday.
Users are advised to use the metro and bus service to get to the stations affected in the section between La Sagrera and Maragall. Specifically, the L4, between Maragall and Verdaguer, or the L3, between Diagonal and Vall d’Hebron, and the V27 bus, which links La Sagrera and Maragall, with no stop at Congrés.
A shuttle bus service will also be operating between La Sagrera and Maragall, stopping at the three stations affected, during the same hours as the metro. Users to not need to validate their ticket to board the shuttle bus.
Shuttle bus stops in the direction of Maragall:
- Stop 8765 – La Sagrera
- Stop 9768 – Congrés
Shuttle bus stops in the direction of La Sagrera:
- Stop 1887 – Maragall
- Stop 508 – Congrés
The shuttle bus will run approximately every four minutes and function from 5 am on 11 May to 5 am on 12 May.
