Accessibility

The Historic Archives of the City of Barcelona affirms its commitment to universal access and works daily to improve user services.

Guide dogs for the blind and helper dogs are allowed into all the Archives’ public spaces.

The street from which the Archives are accessed is a pedestrian zone. The main entrance to the Archives’ courtyard has got three steps and a ramp for users with reduced mobility.

There are three more steps and another ramp with a handrail on one side to access the interior of the building.

In the exhibition room area there is a space suitable for getting about in a wheelchair where the flooring is even and in good condition. The exhibitions and spatial design meet accessibility criteria regarding materials, measurements, colours, contrasts, etc.

In the reception area there is a portable magnetic circuit that improves communication between visitors with hearing aids and members of the Archives’ staff.

Note for screen reader users. This gallery shows one element, which can be an image or a video. Use the controls from the ‘Gallery Controls’ area to show the previous or the next element. You can also click on the element you wish to visualise.
