Daniel Giralt-Miracle has been a reference figure for Catalan culture in the 20th and 21st centuries. His many facets (art critic, university professor, cultural manager, curator, writer, introducer of new disciplines and much more) has allowed him to act on and from different fronts, in most of which he has made notable contributions to a discipline or to a specific context and has given voice or a new voice to movements, concepts, artists, designers or creators that have played a key role in their field or at some point in contemporary Catalan culture.

A Daniel Giralt-Miracle. Crítica. Acció. Empremta is a collection of 47 personal pieces, written by people who have shared experiences with Daniel Giralt-Miracle over the years, from the field of art politics, the critical press, association activism, major curators, creation in different spheres, the personal environment and institutions. Through these accounts we can trace important events in Daniel Giralt-Miracle’s long career.

These writings are accompanied by photographs taken, for the most part, from the family’s personal archives and those of the authors. This book of recognition focuses on major key episodes, such as curating Gaudí Year (2002) or directing the contemporary art museum MACBA, but also on many other events that have marked Giralt-Miracle's career, from art criticism in the newspaper Avui, the magazine Destino and a long list of other media to the organisation of multiple exhibitions, the promotion of publications and his participation in activities such as jewellery.
