The book you are holding in your hands is the result of a fast sketching competition promoted by the long-established schools Escola del Mar and Escola Baixeras, and organised by Barcelona City Council in collaboration with the Barcelona Education Consortium. Fifth year primary school children from schools across the city came out onto the streets during the 2021-2022 school year to draw iconic landmarks and emblematic spaces - from monuments to green spaces, or scenes of everyday life - using the urban drawing technique.

A jury formed of people from the worlds of art, education and publishing selected the hundred best drawings that can now be found in this book from the “Carnet de Voyage” collection, published by Barcelona City Council. You can now enjoy the inspiration and artistic expression of students from Barcelona’s schools with a surprising and captivating result.
