Peter Pan, Heidi, Enid Blyton and, most of all, Tintin are names associated with the history of publishers Editorial Joventut, which celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2023. Joventut also publishes books on adventure travel, by land and sea, such as the Kon-Tiki expedition (from Peru to Polynesia) and the Aku Aku expedition, to discover the secret of Easter Island.

It led the way with popular collections of romance, western and action novels, while the “Z” collection introduced the pocket books to Catalonia and Spain. The biographies of Emile Ludwig and Stefan Zweig have been long-running best sellers, even to the present day.

In recent years, Joventut has specialised in children’s literature with Helen Oxbury’s books for young children, the “Mia i Bruno” series by Mònica Peitx and Cristina Losantos, which offer a new take on adolescence, and hits like Narval. Illustrated albums are a hallmark of theirs. Joventut’s books, by local authors and illustrators, have been translated around the world.

This book visually unfolds Joventut’s past and present, with a spectacular graphic approach. It will bring back memories for some readers, while arousing curiosity and surprise in others.
