Barcelona hosts the presentation of the new Slow Food guide, featuring more than 100 sustainable restaurants
The 2026 Barcelona Slow Food Guide was presented at the Gastronòmic Fòrum with eleven new additions and the presentation of the 4th Gastronomic Responsibility Awards.
On 5 November, the auditorium of the Gastronòmic Fòrum in Barcelona hosted the presentation of the seventh edition of the Barcelona Slow Food Guide, a publication promoted by Slow Food Barcelona that includes a selection of 100 restaurants, bars, beach bars and ice cream parlours committed to proximity, biodiversity and gastronomic responsibility.
The event, hosted by journalist Carme Gasull, was attended by chefs, producers and projects from all over the country. Over the course of the day, the 4th Slow Food Barcelona Gastronomic Responsibility Awards were also presented, which recognise exemplary trajectories and initiatives in sustainable, organic and local food.
This year, the movement is celebrating 20 years of Slow Food Barcelona and 10 years of the Mercat de la Terra, a reference space where farmers and residents come together to transform the food system from the perspective of local produce and community.
The new edition of the guide features 11 establishments -Bar Donzell, Bar Super, Colmado Puntal, Deliri, Direkte, Forno Bomba, Franca, La Gormanda, Mecànic, Pompa and Suru- that broaden horizons and reflect the gastronomic vitality of the city. In total, 30 restaurants have received the Slow Food Snail distinction, which acknowledges establishments that place an emphasis on producers and promote the biodiversity of the territory.
As part of the event, the annual awards for gastronomic responsibility were also presented: Pep Salsetes (Responsible Cuisine), Can Fisas (Responsible Production), Escola de Pastors i Pastores de Catalunya (Responsible Initiative) and Toni Massanés (Dissemination of Responsible Gastronomy). The “Elective Affinities” special mention went to the Happy Food project, a sustainable food truck committed to the Slow Food movement.
The Barcelona Slow Food Guide 2026 will be available in book stores throughout Catalonia and on the website slowfoodguide.barcelona.
