Barcelona Restoration Awards 2025
Barcelona is a city with a powerful, creative, innovative, sustainable and diverse gastronomic offer. Over the years, the restaurants in its districts and neighbourhoods have consolidated themselves as a key player in shaping the city and, at the same time, as an essential actor in spreading the potential of Barcelona's gastronomic culture.
The Department of Commerce, Catering and Food Services of Barcelona City Council has announced the sixth edition of the Barcelona Restaurant Awards, awards that reward the city's restaurant establishments that have stood out during the year 2024. The Barcelona Restaurant Awards aim to recognise and promote the initiatives of neighbourhood restaurants, local establishments in the city. The aim is to give value and help spread the quality and sustainable gastronomic offer that exists in Barcelona.
The categories
Gastronomic quality award
Aimed at establishments with a consolidated history in the neighbourhood and a culinary proposal based on local and seasonal products. Special consideration will be given to specialisation in specific dishes or products that bring uniqueness to the city's gastronomic offer, as well as recognition obtained from critics, awards or local institutions.
Neighborhood Integration award
Focused on establishments that actively contribute to the social life of the neighborhood, establishing links with the neighborhood fabric and promoting community cohesion. Involvement with local entities, attention to groups with special needs, collaboration with local providers and the ability to create meeting and sociability spaces, as well as recognition by the population as a point of reference for the neighborhood, will be valued.
Sustainability award
Aimed at establishments that integrate sustainability as a fundamental value of the business. Responsible practices in resource management, the reduction of environmental impacts and the promotion of circular economy models will be recognized. The establishment's capacity to combine economic viability with a commitment to future generations will also be assessed.
Room service award
Category for establishments that offer excellent customer service, guaranteeing a welcoming and quality experience. Effective coordination between the kitchen and the dining room, the management of table service and the ability to adapt to the needs of each customer with professionalism and warmth will be valued.
Award for the restoration of Barcelona markets
Award for bars and restaurants located within municipal markets that contribute to reinforcing the friendly and welcoming character of these spaces. Gastronomic proposals that combine tradition and innovation, with an offer based on fresh and seasonal produce from the market itself, will be recognized.
