‘Commerce and Schools’ programme to take part in the Market of Markets fair
The 13th edition of the Market of Markets Fair is being held in Plaça Catalunya on 18, 19 and 20 October, offering a great celebration of Barcelona’s markets and of local, sustainable products and food. The fair features the finest produce from market stalls around Barcelona and Catalonia, along with music and children’s activities. The ‘Commerce and Schools’ education programme will be taking part by organising two children’s workshops. The two sessions are based around consumerism and aimed at children from 8 to 12.
Firstly, the programme is organising the workshop “The superpower of the consumer”, addressing shopping awareness in a social, historical and technological context. The activity analyses current consumer trends, including aspects such as social and environmental commitment, globalisation and delocalisation. The session is on in the Children’s Space on Friday 18 October, from 7 pm to 8 pm and on Saturday, 19 October, from 5.15 pm to 6.15 pm.
The second activity is “Discover the mystery of labels!”, which aims to answer some of the following questions: What do the numbers on eggs mean? How do you know if a product has been produced locally? Or if it’s organic? What does DO stand for? What does it guarantee? The session is on in the Children’s Space on Friday 18 October, from 7 pm to 8 pm and on Saturday, 19 October, from 5.15 pm to 6.15 pm.
