The Cultural Regatta of the America's Cup reinforces Barcelona's position as the cocktail capital
Barcelona will strengthen its position this summer as the international cocktail capital. The creation of the 'America's Cup Cocktail,' specifically for the 37th Louis Vuitton America's Cup, the global sporting event that the city will host this summer, once again highlights the innovative spirit of the sector and its clear intention to internationalise as an attractive proposal for both the local public and visitors.
The Cultural Regatta, a programme of activities launched by the Barcelona City Council to accompany the arrival of the America’s Cup sailing event, in collaboration with over 60 entities, institutions, and facilities in the city, adds this innovative cocktail to the more than 200 planned activities, a proposal created, designed, and promoted by the Barcelona Bar Show and Fecalon. The initiative aims to reposition the high-level creations of the city’s bartenders, many of whom have been recognised and awarded at numerous international events.
What will the cocktail be like, and who created it?
The ‘America’s Cup Cocktail’ is a unique and memorable proposal created in collaboration with six cocktail bars representing the same number of teams participating in the main competition of the 37th Louis Vuitton America’s Cup. The cocktail includes: Bacardi Carta Blanca, salted honey cordial with thyme, Appletiser, Ratafia Alquimia, smoked with rosemary, and accompanied by a gastronomic apple snack with tajin.
The drink will be available on the menu of 30 selected cocktail bars and has been created by the bartenders SKYFALL (Cristian Valls – Hotel and Metropolitan Cocktail Bar), SOMNIA (Daniel Arévalo – Fantasy Cocktail Bar), ESPECIARIUM (Antonio Naranjo – Signature Cocktail Bar), DRY MARTINI (Javier de las Muelas – Classic Cocktail Bar), PARADISO (Giacomo Gianotti – Speakeasy and Creative Cocktail Bar), and A TEMPO (Iñaki Aldrey – Michelin-starred Restaurant Cocktail Bar).
