Awardees of the 20th edition

Innovative commerce award

Winning establishment: Etnia

Etnia, the Catalan glasses manufacturer set up in 2003 with a vocation to internationalise and boasting 7,000 sales outlets worldwide, approaches retail through this flagship shop in Barcelona.

The establishment is a commercial space with a global experience in the culture of spectacles for consumers and professionals alike. It has made the brand work on such aspects as innovation in sales outlets, raising the profile of its “DNA” with a unique retail concept and reclaiming a Modernista building - now its head office - which enhances and livens up El Born’s urban and commercial area.

Special mention: Sephora

An international brand’s commitment to Barcelona, by developing its globally unique and pioneering Store Concept in our city.

This commitment to Barcelona is providing it with the profile that constant innovation represents in commerce, the global experience customers have at sales outlets and which goes beyond the establishment itself, as well as the impetus that this implies for the Pelai – Rambles commercial area, are the proposal's valued elements.

Collaborative commerce award

The area's associations: AMICS DE LA RAMBLA, Mercat de la Boqueria, Associació Comerciants Pl. Reial, FEM RAVAL, Federació Comerciants del Raval, Eix Raval, BARNACENTRE, PELAI CENTRE, PLAÇA UNIVERSITAT I RODALIES, El Corte Inglés

Special recognition goes to the markets, hubs, associations and commercial establishments in the city for the courageous, firm and solidary commitment they showed after the terrorist attacks of 17 August.

That day we were able to see shops, restaurants and other services on and around the Rambla show their extremely brave and solidary sides. All the shops’ workers reacted in an exemplary way to one of the worst moments our city has ever experienced.

Hence this recognition goes to our shopworkers who were there that day and showed their solidarity and went back to work and opened their shops the following day to bring city life back to normal and send out a clear message that Barcelona was not afraid.
