Grants to foster the protection and improvement of the city‘s urban landscape
Barcelona City Council‘s Municipal Institute of Urban Landscape and Quality of Life (IMPUQV) has created a call for grant applications to foster the protection and improvement of the urban landscape. The initiative aims to promote the recovery of heritage while paying attention to environmental sustainability and supporting small shops.
The call for applications includes financial aid aimed at commercial establishments of less than 500 m² which are undertaking construction work in their businesses - a key factor in the configuration of Barcelona‘s urban landscape- and meet the campaign requirements. There are also specific sections aimed at protected historic establishments as well as non-protected historic establishments.
-
Commercial activities in Barcelona‘s buildings are one of the main factors involved in configuring the city‘s image from an aesthetic point of view, and the fact that this involves respect for the comfort of city residents in public spaces, as well as for its symbolic value and the revitalisation of those areas
