Not one more! The murder of a woman in the district of Nou Barris violated the most basic of human rights and highlights how women remain unprotected in the face of this type of violence.
The City Council fervently condemns male violence towards women in general and particularly the latest femicide which occurred in May, and which was confirmed today, Friday 5 September. To this end, the protocol for mourning established with various institutions and entities has been activated. The protocol is designed to offer a coordinated demonstration of grief and rejection through different communication channels and raise public awareness on the need to put an end to sexist violence.
Barcelona City Council pledges to continue making every effort needed to guarantee women’s basic right to live their lives free of any type of sexist violence and reiterates its support for all women who experience this situation.
